Is it necessart that a retired person to disclose all his retirement benefits in ITR of the corresponding financial year of returns filing
Hey @Brv2024
A retired person must disclose taxable retirement benefits and should report exempt ones as well, to ensure complete and accurate filing.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions about the tax treatment of specific retirement benefits.
Hope this helps!
Madam,
Thank you for your clarification.
What to do if the employer does not declare the retirement benefits given to his employee in the portal under the PAN of employee and also in form 16,
but still can an employee mention in ITR while filing to comply with rules and seek exemption when he is a government employee.
Please let me know your kind opinion on this.
With regards
Hey @Brv2024
Yes, you can report it while filing your ITR. The taxability and applicable exemptions will depend on the specific type of retirement benefit you receive.
