Sir The sale agreement value of property is 1.8 crore. The stamp duty is paid on 1.8 core. The stamp duty document schedule 2 shows the govt market value of property is 1.4 crore. When Buyer is filling 26QB what he should write in 1) Amount credited/paid 2) Total Stamp duty value of the property
please guide
Hello @sanjivw,
The amount credited/paid is ₹1.8 crore as this is the actual sale price of the property. And the total stamp duty value of the property is ₹1.4 crore as mentioned in the stamp duty document.
Since the sale price is ₹1.8 crore, which is higher than the stamp duty value, TDS will be calculated on ₹1.8 crore.
That is ok . But what value I should enter in the field Total stamp duty value of Property. It gives warning of difference of 20 %. Many advised me since the stamp duty was paid on 1.8 crore the Total value of stamp duty property should be 1.8 cr
You should enter ₹1.4 crore in the Total stamp duty value of the property field, as that is the government market value mentioned in the stamp duty document.
If it shows a 20% difference warning, you can ignore it as long as the values entered match the actual documents.
