Tendered 20 shares under the buyback program last year, 10 were accepted. In ais and tis it shows that all 20 shares were sold, including some under short term whereas all shares accepted for buyback were long term. Tis also shows reported by source, processed by system and accepted by taxpayer but nothing was accepted by us. How to get this rectified? Who made this error, cdsl/company or the income tax portal?
Buyback amount has to be mentioned under 10(34A) - Buyback of shares, right? But what amount to mention here total sales value or the profit amount as per zerodha’s buyback report? Zerodha’s report show it as ltcg but if it is exempt income then how is it ltcg?
You can provide feedback on the AIS portal for the incorrect data. Moreover, buyback profits are exempted from taxes and you need to report them in schedule EI while filing the ITR. There’s no requirement to specify the buy and sell details.
