I hope you’re all doing well. I have a question regarding the House Rent Allowance (HRA) claim for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).

Is it possible for NRIs to claim HRA?
What are the terms and conditions for NRIs to be eligible to claim HRA?
What documents are required to be submitted while filing ITR to claim HRA?
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or insights from those who have experience or knowledge about this matter.

If you are earning salary income from India and the employer has added HRA as a component to your pay structure, then you’ll be able to claim it while filing your ITR.

No, in that case you cannot claim HRA in India.
