Details of unlisted equity shares

Hi,

I work in a Foreign MNC Company which offers a Share Buy program. We can buy shares each month.
I am trying to declare these shares as part of ITR filing.

In the Schedule Part A - General Information under Filing Status we have a option “Details of Unlisted Equity Shares”.
Since I am buying shares of this Foreign Company each month, how do I fill this form? The queries against each field are listed below.

Queries are mainly for the Heading - Shares acquired during the year (Highlighted in screenshot)

Fields

  1. Number of shares → Do I need to add the cumulative number of shares I bought from January to December?
  2. Date of subscription/purchase → Since I am buying each month what date should I add here?
  3. Face value per share → Since I am buying each month what value should I enter here?
  4. Purchase price per share → Since I am buying each month the purchase price varies as the stock price varies in the foreign stock exchange.

Thanks & Regards

Hi @Shrutika_Shah
The link that you have shared talks about Capital Gain. My question is regarding acquiring Foreign Shares.

This is under Schedule Part A - General Information where you need to declare Foreign Equity Shares.

Hi @Suraj_D

If you’ve sold listed foreign equity shares, you need to report it under schedule CG.
If you’re holding listed foreign equity shares, you need to report them in Schedule FA > Table A3

Hi @Shrutika_Shah

I have not sold any foreign shares
If I hold foreign shares which is listed in a foreign Stock Exchange, do I need to declare it in Schedule Part A - General Information ?

In this schedule there is an option for Details of Unlisted Equity Shares. Shouldn’t we declare the foreign shares here? As the foreign share are not listed in Indian Stock Exchange?

Thanks & Regards

Hi @Suraj_D

You can report these shares in Schedule Part A - General Information
Apart from this, you need to disclose these holdings in schedule FA.
