ETF taxation after new budget

As per new budget, Gold ETF are taxed as per LTCG tax rate applicable. This is applicable for transactions from 1.4.2025.

However does transaction from 1.4.2025 means redemption or buying

This is an aspect which is not clear. Some websites are saying it means redemption from 1-Apr-25, but others are saying even purchase should be after 1-Apr-25.
In fact, this confusion exists not only or ETFs, but same query applies to Multi Asset Allocation Mutual Funds etc. also
