Form 26QB amount fields

Hello,
I’m buying a resale flat property. There are two buyers and two sellers. Agreement cost 1.5 Cr. Now how many 26QB we need to submit and what amount we should mention on TDS?
Total value of consideration
Amount paid (B)
Stamp duty value (C).

Thanks in advance!

Hey @rohit

You need one Form 26QB per Buyer-Seller combination. So, in your case 4 Form 26QB will be applicable. In each form Total value of consideration will be the total value of property i.e 1.5 Cr. In amount paid, you mention the share of consideration between the respective buyer and seller. Let’s assume the 1.5 Cr is split equally among both buyers and sellers:

  • Each buyer’s share = ₹75 lakh
  • Each seller’s share = ₹75 lakh
  • Each buyer pays ₹37.5 lakh to each seller

So, in each of the 4 forms, you report amount paid as Rs 37,50,000

Enter stamp duty value same as agreement value if no higher stamp value is applicable.

Hope this helps!

Hello @Ayushi_Joshi Ayushi,

Thanks for the prompt response. Can I do only two?
Buyer1->Seller 1 = 75 Lakhs
Buyer 2->Seller 2 = 75 Lakhs

Thank you for the clarification. On the Form, the amount field should reflect the total consideration paid. The amount you enter should match the actual payment made. If the payment is split between multiple buyers or sellers, ensure the values correspond to the actual amounts paid by each.

Hey @rohit

No, you cannot file only two Form 26QBs if there are two buyers and two sellers.

Hope this helps!
