FY26: EPFO Passbook missing "Taxable Data for the year"

Team,

Since EPFO interest on employee contributions above 2.5L were made taxable, IIRC, the EPFO was supposed to maintain two books. The passbook last year, had a clear section ‘Taxable Data for the year’ which captured this detail. This year, the whole section has vanished from the passbook.

Given this background, I wanted to understand how to deal with this:

  1. Is this missing from everyone’s passbook or is it just something a few people are facing? If any of you have already filed and qualify for the taxation above 2.5, please do share your views.
  2. Given that its not prudent to wait longer for EPFO to update this - how can one manually calculate this and file as appropriate?

Thank you.

Phew! These Govt babus gives rats- a** about it. Did you get this info ?

looking for same info, unable to see in newer passbook portal. thinking of raising grievance, if no solution till now, all people should start raising requesting hopefully the babus may wake up and provide the info.

No I didn’t get this. I did call up their help line - after listening to the issue, they said the new website doesn’t have this. Weren’t able to help and disconnected the call.

Anyway, as it turns out, for FY26 returns, you only need the breakup that was present in the FY25 passbook - thats what gets reported in your 26AS/AIS/TIS. So this years breakup, you’ll only need during next year’s returns. Hopefully, the new website has it back in the passbook by then.
