How to form HUF

Dear Sir/Madam
Pls advise what is the procedure to form HUF for further applying HUF Pan Card. HUF will consists of me, my wife and my unmarried adult son. We are residing in Delhi. Pls advise the details of the procedure and share the format also.

Please find the below steps for the forming a HUF:

  1. Prepare an affidavit comprising of members you want to include in HUF
  2. Get the affidavit notarized and stamped.
  3. Apply for PAN card.
  4. Ship the hard copy of PAN application along with the affidavit and all the members KYC documents to the registered address.

Once they receive the documents, a PAN will be issued and shipped to your place.

A Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) manages family assets collectively and reduces tax liability. A Karta is automatically created after marriage, with the eldest member acting as the Karta. A HUF deed is created, a PAN card is applied for, and a bank account is opened in the name of the HUF. Once assets, gifts, and inherited property are added, the HUF can be treated as a separate tax entity.
