Income tax returns not processed yet

Hi, my income tax returns for assessment year 2024-25 are still not processed. I had received a notice that my IT returns filed are defective u/s 139(9), reason being the gross receipts shown in Form 26AS, on which credit for TDS has been claimed, are higher than the total of the receipts shown under all heads of income, in the return of income. I had then filed a response to this. But my IT returns are yet not processed.

Should I contact the ITR office? What is the resolution?

The processing of Income Tax Returns (ITR) can take between 30 to 60 days. However, this year, we have noticed that it is taking longer than usual in many cases. If your ITR is still pending, you can wait a few more days. Additionally, you can file a grievance on the Income Tax Department (ITD) portal for assistance.
