Important update 
The deadline for filing ITR for AY 2025-26 has been extended from 31 July 2025 to 15 September 2025.
Why the extension?
This year, the CBDT has introduced significant updates to the ITR forms, especially in terms of how income and financial details need to be reported.
The aim is to improve transparency and ensure accurate reporting. But, these updates mean it’ll take a little longer for the Income Tax Department (ITD) to roll out the e-filing utilities. Hence, the delay.
So, what does this mean for you?
You now have more time to gather your documents and file your ITR.
However, we’d recommend you avoid the last-minute rush and file your taxes as soon as it goes live.
