Hey there,
I want to register my LLP and want to be slightly generic.
To start with primary activity will be export/import. To be specific I will start with Makhana export but gradually I want to add more product like moringa powder or start export of Pharma product also or import some item from China like electronics etc.
Also I would like to bid for government tender with the same LLP.
Is is possible to have these activity in LLP agreement and register or I can do with only one type ?
Hey @Anand_Kumar
You can register your LLP with multiple business activities, such as export/import, agricultural products (like Makhana, moringa powder), electronics import, and even bidding for government tenders. In your LLP agreement, you can include a general clause allowing for future expansion into these areas. When registering, select the relevant business activity codes for each type of activity. The structure is flexible, and you can modify or add activities as your business grows, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Hope this helps !!
Thank you Priyanshu.
But when I talked to an online portal for company registration they are saying if I want to export Makhana I can only register for agri based product or related product only. I can not do export of pharma or import of electronics from China in the same LLP. They are saying for that I need to register a different LLP.
I am confused now.
Hello @Anand_Kumar
The LLP Act, 2008 does not say that you can operate only in the sector of your initial NIC code.
Your LLP Agreement can include multiple objects, and you can expand into any lawful business.
MCA only asks for:
- “Main business activity” (NIC code)
- “Description of business”
You can choose one primary NIC code, but your activities can be broader.
An LLP Agreement should clearly define the nature of the business activity, outlining what products or services the LLP will provide. It helps ensure partners operate with a shared understanding of the firm’s purpose and legal scope.
