I am having more than one dmat account in the same name and in the same PAN. now i intend to consolidate in one dmat account by transferring off market transfer of shares in one dmat account and close other dmat account. in such case is the lon g term capital gain is applicable. holding period for shares in all the dmat account are more than one year. pl guide. pl note same name and same PAN.

As this is just a transfer of shares from one demat account to another, there will be no capital gains tax applicable. You are liable to pay taxes only when you realise any profits by selling the shares.
