My original ITR2 was filed on 17th July. But there were mistakes in the original ITR, so a revised ITR was filed on 29th. Original ITR’s processing hasn’t started yet. Yesterday I got an intimation 143(1) regarding successful processing of my ITR. When I checked the computation and acknowledgement number, it was of the revised ITR. But it didn’t mention the form type as revised. It showed it as ITR 2 original. Now I am confused. If my original ITR is processed next, would the system consider that as revised? Or the original ITR will not be processed at all, considering the revised has been processed? Has someone experienced anything like this before?
Hi @arvi13,
As far as my understanding goes, if you file a revised return, it gets processed instead of the original return. The filing section should show as ‘revised ITR’. You should once check the status of both your original and revised return on the income tax portal as well.
Hi @Surbhi_Pal, the income tax portal is not yet updated. It is still showing both the returns as e-verified. Shall I submit a grievance for the same?
Hey Arvind, did you get the solution…? What is your contact no…?
No, I’m just waiting for the portal to update. It’s still not updated. Are you having the same issue?
I filed both original and revised ITR 2. Original in morning and revised in evening same day. After 15 days I received Intimation 143-1 and refund for original. Revised still showing as everified. I matched ack number in Intimation and its correct. Now Waiting for revised to be processed.
Looks like first the Original ITR will get processed and revised ITR will be processed afterwards if both are showing everified on the portal.
In my case revised was processed first but intimation order shows it as original. Portal isn’t updated yet.
Portal will get updated in a day or two. In my case portal was updated second day after getting Intimation on email.
It’s been a week already and the portal isn’t updated yet.
@arvi13 Try calling their helpdesk number and raise a grievance on the portal.
Did you change Tax regime in revised ITR…?
No. Do you have the same issue?
