How can I find a company’s address through GSTIN?

After an entity is registered under GST (Goods and Service Tax), they will receive a GST Number or GSTIN (GST Identification Number).

You can use this GSTIN of an entity to verify its following details:

  • Legal Name
  • Date of Registration
  • Nature of Business
  • Scheme of Registration: Regular or Composite
  • Status: Active or Inactive

For this, you can use, Verify GST Number/ GSTIN details tool

The government does not allow to find the company address through GSTIN. However, you can search for the State where the company is registered under GST.

Use the PAN Number of the company from its GSTIN. The PAN (Permanent Account Number) is 3rd to the 12th character in the GSTIN.

Enter this PAN Number in Search GST Numer / GSTIN by PAN tool.

The result will display the GST Number for that PAN and the State it is registered in.
