Hope this helps!
GST registration in India is the process of getting a GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) for your business so you can legally collect and file GST. The entire process is done online on the official GST portal (gst.gov.in) and there’s no government fee for registration itself.
Step-by-Step Procedure
Check Eligibility:
• If your annual turnover exceeds the threshold (e.g., ₹40 lakh for goods or ₹20 lakh for services in most states), you must register.
• Registration is also required for interstate suppliers, e-commerce sellers, casual taxable persons, and non-resident taxable persons regardless of turnover.
Visit the GST Portal:
Go to gst.gov.in → Services → Registration → New Registration.
Part-A – Enter Basic Details:
• Enter PAN, email, mobile number, state, business name.
• You’ll receive a Temporary Reference Number (TRN) after PAN, email, and mobile are validated via OTP.
Part-B – Complete the Application:
• Log in with your TRN and fill in detailed information such as business constitution, address, promoter or partner info, bank account details, and more.
Upload Documents:
• PAN card, Aadhaar card, proof of business address (rent agreement/utility bill), bank account proof, photos, authorization letter, etc.
Submit & Verify:
• Submit the application using a Digital Signature (DSC), EVC, or e-sign.
• Optionally, Aadhaar authentication speeds up processing.
Application Processing:
• The GST officer reviews your application.
• If everything is complete, you’ll get the GSTIN (15-digit GST number) and certificate on your registered email/mobile.
Important Tips
Keep all documents clear and matching across PAN, Aadhaar, address proofs, etc.
After registration, you must file regular GST returns as per law.
